‘Beautiful peaceful spot’

‘Beautiful peaceful spot’

 Mel B – 2014.

We had a lovely time at Manoir Seguinet. The house is full of charm and is so spacious we all had privacy when we wanted it. Rooms are beautifully furnished and with 3 lounges, we could have one for the boys’ games room, one for the adults and one for the girls! Bedrooms are lovely with lots of hot water for showers!! The pool area has enough sunbeds and seating for everyone with shaded table for those who wanted to avoid the rays at lunchtime and the delicious scent of lavender floating across as you sunbathed. BBQ area is great. Pool the perfect temperature. Resident toads and many lizards kept the kids amused. We went there with 3 teenage boys and a 5 years old niece. On hot days the boys fished (caught a beautiful rainbow trout… which we gutted and ate), played in the pool and had table tennis competitions. However, on the odd rainy day, we felt we had to drive quite a long way to keep them amused. There is a fantastic ‘go-ape’ style centre very close to the house, but other activities for teenagers seemed to be a long way away. For adults, however, there are beautiful hilltop bastides and chateaux. Dinner at a restaurant at the bottom of Chateau Bonaguille with its resident guitarist, under the stars… fab…and night time markets where you can eat and listen to live music with the locals … France at its best! Taz and Martyn are helpful and friendly and do not invade your privacy but act as quickly as possible to resolve any issues. Only one slight grumble was the WiFi dropping out fairly frequently but we were glad you had it! But otherwise, thank you both, we had a great time!

‘Most wonderful break’

‘Most wonderful break’

We spent the most wonderful break in this lovely traditional french cottage in a beautiful part of rural France. Set in a picturesque courtyard, the coach house is comfortable and tastefully decorated. We spent a couple of memorable evenings dining out on the patio enjoying french wine and local delicacies. The owner is friendly and very helpful during our stay, nothing was too much trouble, making us so welcome. In the surrounding area there is much to do and see, breath-taking scenery, lively french markets packed with fresh produce and beautiful bastide towns full of character and points of interest. We will certainly be going back to the coach house and would highly recommend it.

Kes and Laura.

We booked the coach house for a last minute summer holiday. We really didn’t know where in Aquitaine we wanted to stay and so just went for the place that looked the nicest in the pictures for our budget! We weren’t disappointed. Unlike many properties, it was as good in reality as it looked in the photographs. The grounds are lovely and the accommodation was clean and spacious. We arrived very late, around 2am after a 14hr drive but Tas, the owner had stayed up to meet us and show us around. She was friendly and helpful and her recommended restaurant (petit auberge) was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. Whilst there we saw how much work goes into keeping le seguinet in good condition, with Tas and her helpers working every day on the grounds and property. We would certainly like to return and will recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

“FRENCH LIFE IN EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATION”

“FRENCH LIFE IN EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATION”

Just returned from our second extended family holiday on the Seguinet Manoir Estate. We stayed in the Coach House and other members of our party stayed in the Main house. All accommodation was exceptionally good and the owners have an excellent taste in decor. This is a wonderfully relaxing place with beautiful 17 acres of well kept grounds. We made full use of the large swimming pool and other amenities including boating on the lake. The children enjoyed the swings, table tennis and paddling pool.

The owner is very helpful, discretely on site and always available should we have any questions. We greatly appreciated her local knowledge and she even made reservations for all of us in a local restaurant when requested.
The locality cannot be faulted and we were a short drive from a well-stocked supermarket. Great rural countryside with very quiet roads. Quaint village within a short walking distance.
The medieval village of Moissac (about an hour’s drive away) is well worth a visit. We enjoyed the ambiance of typical French life whilst having lunch outside one of the many restaurants and watched the world go by whilst listening to the bells of St. Pierre Abbey (situated just across the Square) ring out as they must have done over the centuries. The Abbey itself is well worth visiting as are the Cloisters finished in 1100 and perfectly preserved.
Overall, if you want to sample real French life in excellent accommodation Seguinet Manoir is the perfect place to go, we had a great time and came back to the UK well refreshed.

Would highly recommend la Seguinet. We all had a wonderful time, adults and children alike. The children regularly ask ‘when will we be returning to the house with the pool?’ Beautiful location with lots to see and do.

“A Fantastic place for a group”
Le Seguinet is a high quality beautifully proportioned property in a wonderful and historic part of France. It is easily reachable from Bergerac airport and convenient for trips to the Dordogne and Lot valleys. The quality of the furnishings and size of the rooms were first class. We travelled as a a group of friends with grown up children ( 24 of us in total) We had the entire place to ourselves and had a throughly enjoyable time. The owners were on hand to help when necessary ( even arranging for a local chef to come and cook one evening for us all !) . All of the children to a one are already asking when we can go back !

“A wonderfully relaxing way to enjoy the area”

“A wonderfully relaxing way to enjoy the area”
Seguinet is conveniently located near some wonderful attractions in the area.

The manor is beautiful and the rooms are large and comfortable. The chateau has more than enough space for large groups as the main house sleeps 12 and there is another large gite on the property as well as bed and breakfast rooms.

Tas, the owner, is friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

We stayed for 8 days and managed to explore many castles, towns, markets and gardens. The only thing we didn’t have time for was canoeing which looks like fun. Be sure to visit the trout farm in the area for some really fresh fish.

For anyone not accustomed to the French country side way of life, it can be VERY sleepy and you need to know exactly when the markets are on or you’ll arrive to empty towns and squares. The food in the area is very good and there is a super market not too far from Seguinet as well as a boulangerie about 2kms away.

“Holiday of a lifetime”

“Holiday of a lifetime”
We booked the main house and the coach house with a group of 16 for a special occasion through ownersdirect.com, some of us flew to Bergerac and some to Bordeaux. The short hours drive from Berjarac was beautiful, extremely picturesque. We arrived greeted by the very friendly owners Tas and Martyn and were supplied with complimentary bottles of wine in the fridges on arrival. I was expecting the beautiful photos of this property that enticed us to book to be somewhat photo shopped and that surely no place can be as stunning as these pics but when I arrived it literally took my breath away. We all spent a good first hour just wandering around the house and the grounds just soaking it all in! The mansion has clearly been a labour of love for the owners, who’s attention to detail with the decor is exquisite, every room, every fixture, every item of furniture…. It’s clear there’s been no expense spared inside and out. The exterior is just as impressive with extensive grounds, beautiful marquee area and BBQ pergola, and the superb pool… Which was immaculately maintained for us. The gardens and lake are just the icing on the cake, during our stay the flowers were in full bloom and the lake well stocked with carp and trout so the men of the group enjoyed many an hour fishing with rods provided.

Tips: the owners and possibly past guests have plenty of extras for the stay that you feel you have to bring such as spare sheets, spare towels and pool equipment for children/floating devices etc which are kept in the pool house.

We encountered a few hiccups that you would expect given the age of the property eg. Electrical/drainage however the owners were on hand immediately to resolve with minimum fuss and disturbance

The location is very beautiful and we did take a few trips out in the car to nearby towns such as monpazier where we experienced one of their night markets (highly recommended) and also to visit some of the picturesque chateaus. There is a supermarket 15 min drive which we used to stock up a few times during the week and a local shop open a few hours a day where we were able to order pastries for collection each morning.

I cannot recommend this as a holiday destination enough we have all had the holiday of a lifetime, ages from toddler, teen, and all aged adults there was something for everyone. The younger children spent the week in the pool, the teens stayed in the self contained coach house with its own plunge pool, whilst us adults chilled on the terrace under the marque enjoying the local wine in the evening. As a family we also enjoyed the ping pong table in the courtyard!

Please be assured that it really is as good as it looks! Thanks you Tas and Martyn for a holiday we will never forget.
